Horse owners, property managers and agistees are invited to attend a workshop being put on by Horse SA this coming Monday 13th November, 7pm at the Clare Showground.
Speakers are Julie Fiedler, Executive Officer of Horse SA, a non-profit organization that works with horse owners on topics such as sustainable land care, and Andy Cole, a small farm land management advisor.
“Small property owners often feel left out when it comes to relevant land management advice”, said Julie. “The primary purpose of the property may not be commercial in the traditional farming sense, yet informed decisions still need to be made every day which affect the health of the horse and land sustainability”.
Andy Cole’s presentation will cover weeds, pasture and maintaining groundcover before a more practical session where participants can bring along paddock weeds and grasses for identification and advice on how to better manage them.
Julie will also present on horse property management as it relates to the welfare of horses.

The free session is supported by the Northern and Yorke Natural Resources Management Board.
