Helen Krieg is one of Australia’s foremost equine artists and has been portraying horses since childhood. A lifelong involvement with horses has sharpened Helen’s talent and skills in portraying these legends. Working in pastels, Helen’s portraits can take up to 300 hours to fully capture the subtleties of her subject’s character and confirmation. Helen’s work has been featured in over 30 different racing publications and her commissions have included sires for Robert and Janet Holmes-a-Court, and a U.S. commission to portray the great American champion -John Henry- who was, at the time, the world’s highest stakes-money earner. She also co-authored and provided the entire set of equine artwork for the 1984 book -Australia’s Greatest Racehorses. Commission enquiries welcome.
