Voting starts today! The Fund My Neighbourhood participatory funding program, where $40M of SA Government funding for community led projects is up for grabs allocated according to community interest in improving their local community, as indicated by voting. Votes close 5pm, 20 November.
There are lots of horse and trail related projects to vote on, so if there is one near you please vote – each resident can vote for up to five projects. Sandra O’Brien has nominated a project for Horse SA at O’Halloran Hill Recreation Park Extreme Recreational Trail Obstacles’, and Horse SA is also acting as a sponsor the Clare Valley Dressage Club Professional Arenas and Port Pirie Equestrian Club Facilities Upgrade.
In a quick search, other horse related projects include ideas put forward for the Oakridge Road Riding Arena (
Community interaction with horses) the Safe Arena for Orroroo Equine Club, and the Kersbrook Horse Trail.  If there are any other projects let Horse SA and others know so everyone can help promote to friends, colleagues and networks in each neighbourhood, leading to a much needed overall increase in investment in our community managed horse related facilities.

On another note, if you are interested in following the ‘Incidents involving animals‘ conference to be held at the University of California, in partnership with  British Animal Rescue & Trauma Care (new website launched yesterday) – follow the Horse SA Facebook page or #ucbarta17. Julie, of Horse SA is co-presenting with Jim Green of BARTA on ‘Animals as a cross-cutter.’

Happy Riding! (and voting!)
