Strangles is a notifiable disease

Normal biosecurity practices should be in place for horse properties and events at all times, regardless of this outbreak. e.g. horses with nasal discharge, high temperatures or cough should be isolated, not leave a property to go to an event, be accepted for an event or use shared facilities e.g. sandrolls or troughs
