Local Government Horse Trails

There are a limited number of marked trails available for horse riders (generally multi use trails, permitting horses) available in some Councils.

The most extensive horse trail network can be found in the

City of Onkaparinga - Tom Roberts Horse Trail http://www.onkaparingacity.com/web/page?pg=1600&;stypen=html

At the time of writing (Jan 08) The City of Tea Tree Gully is preparing an equestrian trails plan for the Golden Grove area. They have also recently approved a multi-use trail for the Upper Cobblers Creek Recreation Park, which has yet to be formally marked.

Horse trails in local areas are driven by local horse riders on the ground. Horse SA can assist with overarching information for Councils, technical advice, examples of work in other Councils etc.

Horse SA is seeking a volunteer (s) or student (s) to contact each Council to determine the number and location of any trails that permit horse use. These can then be mapped onto our ESRI ARCMAP software with relevant information and contacts, and be uploaded onto the Horse SA website. Please contact the Horse SA office if you are able to assist.
